What It Means to Be a Modern Online Educator

Traditional college instruction is part of a well-established tradition that has remained fairly unchanged over time. Becoming an instructor in this environment has meant conformity to teaching standards that have also remained fairly unchanged. A college professor is associated with someone who is a subject matter expert, likely to achieve a position with tenure, and have dual roles as an instructor and researcher. It is expected that they will be published authors of scholarly journal articles that have been peer-reviewed and contributed knowledge to their field. While this form of education and instructor still exists, there is another academic institution that has also been established and it is an online college and university.

For a modern form of online education you will not likely find any positions that are labeled professor. Most online universities hire adjuncts and many refer to their instructors as facilitators. Some universities expect their instructors to complete annual professional development requirements but rarely does that include publishing peer-reviewed journal articles. What is needed now more than ever is a new category of educator, one who meets the needs of students who participate

Difference Between On-Campus Education and Online Education

On-campus education vs. online education! Is one better than the other? Can one completely replace the other? Indeed it seems that online education is the way of the future. Educational institutions, corporations and government organizations alike already offer various forms of electronic teaching. However, can a computer truly replace a teacher and a blackboard?

How people learn

Each individual has a form of learning that suits them best. Some individuals achieve fantastic results in courses taught online, however most people drop out of 100% computer-led courses. Educational institutions, as well as companies in carrying out staff training, must recognize that there is no ideal way to carry out the teaching of a large group of individuals, and so must design programs that best suits the needs of the group as a whole.

People learn using multiple senses. This involves learning through both theoretical components of a course, as well as social interaction with both instructors and other students. Students learn from each other’s mistakes and successes, not just from what they are told by instructors.

10 Tips to Help Your Child Think, Learn and Succeed

1. Remember, respect and accept each child’s learning style and approach. Children are unique and need encouragement to find out more about who they are and how they learn.

2. Let them catch you reading, learning and managing time well. Do you read books and magazines? Are you taking a course or learning something new? Do you engage your child in teachable moments along the way? All of these teach your child the importance of life-long learning.

3. Time, energy and focus are lost in a school supply scavenger hunt. Provide and centralize all materials necessary for studying. Stock up on items in September at the beginning of the year and replenish supplies before they go back to school in January after the winter break.

Education and the Complete Individual

Education is something that many have said much about. Most of these are complex or vague. Consider the Greek philosopher Aristotle’s saying that education is ‘an ornament in prosperity‘ and ‘a refuge in adversity‘. There have been a great many attempts to explain this description, but none have quite succeeded in satisfying my curiosity. Alternatively, this is what the English essayist Joseph Addison has to say on education: What sculpture is to a block of marble, education is to a human soul. This too, has a great many explanations and elaborations. But does it really tell us what education is? Does it tell us why we need education? Not really, since the concept of the soul is, till date, a shadowy area. So how can we begin to comprehend what everyone claims is essential to life nowadays? To put it simply, education is a process of training our mind so that we can apply it in a field of our choice: which is why we have education not as a single seamless entity, but as a whole made up of various divisions: music education, scientific and technological education, art education, even teacher education!

Mortgage Loan Originator Licensing Education Requirement

When the SAFE Act was passed by the US Congress in 2008, it mandated that all States require that Mortgage Loan Originators meet certain minimum requirements to obtain and maintain a Mortgage Loan Originator License. Once of those requirements was Education. The SAFE Act mandated 20 hours of Pre-License Education in order to obtain an LO license and 8 hours of Continuing Education each year in order to maintain and renew an LO License. Over the next couple years, each state passed legislation to meet this federal education mandate and regulators worked with the Nationwide Mortgage Licensing System (NMLS) to implement this requirement.

State-Specific Mortgage License Education
When the states passed legislation to meet this federal SAFE Act Education requirement, many of them decided to also require additional education above and beyond the minimum federal requirement of 20 hours of Pre-License Education and 8 hours of annual Continuing Education. Many states require anywhere from 1 to 15 hours of state-specific Pre-License Education and 1 to 3 hours of annual Continuing Education. And as more states have adopted the Uniform State Test (UST) in lieu of a state-specific NMLS Test, many of those same states have decided

Consumer Education Tips For Bluetooth Marketing

The popularity of Bluetooth Marketing continues to grow, but many people are still unfamiliar with the concept. Bluetooth Marketing sends coupons, flyers, or other content to cell phones using a wireless Bluetooth connection to a consumer’s cell phone, smart phone, or other Bluetooth enabled device. Consumers must be within the Bluetooth range of the server in order to be contacted by the server. Consumers receive a customized contact message and must opt-in to receiving the advertisement before it is sent. After the consumer has consented, the advertisement – which may be a JPG or GIF image, and MP3 audio file, 3GP video, or other content – is transferred to the consumer’s cell phone via Bluetooth. No identifiable information, including phone numbers, is collected during the flyer transmission.

This process is cost effective as there are no per message fees for the consumer or the owner of the Bluetooth Marketing server. It is also environmentally friendly as it reduces the number of paper flyers that are created and distributed.

Since Bluetooth Marketing is still fairly new, consumers need to be educated about how to receive Bluetooth flyers and they need to be reassured that the flyer

Learn How To Be Creative In Art Based Education

Nowadays, people are always said to be boring. Many people in the office are fired because they could not try to make use of innovative ideas to help the companies to generate more profits. Therefore, it is very important for you to teach your kids to be innovative.

In fact, kids are usually the most creative. They are not like adults, who experience the hardship in the world. Adults know that there are many ideas such as kids craft ideas but they think that they could hardly realize these ideas so they would not be willing to share with the others about these ideas.

However, kids do not know so many complicated things. They just know that they should voice out whether there are something in their mind. Therefore, this is very good for adults to listen to the ideas of the kids and they may get inspired.

If you want to make some free preschool crafts with your kids and let your kids learn more about innovation before they go to the school, you may kindly try to find something that you can find at home and make the products with your kids.

The 7 Most Common Mistakes Parents Make in Promoting Readiness to Learn

Learning toys for toddlers and developmental educational activities are important for encouraging and developing the naturally inquisitive minds of the youngest children. However, even if you are a conscientious parent who buys the most highly rated toys and books, there are critical mistakes that you are probably making that could keep your child from being ready to learn.
You have probably heard at least some of these, but here are 7 of the most common mistakes along with positive, corrective steps that you or caregivers in your child’s life can take to help your toddler or pre-schooler become an enthusiastic learner.
Mistake 1:  Not Reading to Your Child Every Day
Solution: Read to your child at least 20 minutes a day. Discuss each book that your child reads while you are reading together. This reading time doesn’t have to be all at once. At home, we have a set of 5-Minute Bedtime Stories books that essentially are summary plots from my youngest son’s favorite movies (Cars, Finding Nemo, and more). It’s easy to pick one up and get some quality reading time in with him, even when I’m busy and working under deadlines.

Mistake 2: Buying the

Current Education Tramples the Mind

Not a day goes by there is not an article in our local paper on our local Public School System. If it is not a cry for more money, it is complaints over poor attendance, or that many local teachers are not fully qualified. While some schools are being “demoted,” others are being “promoted.” First, one thing and then another. Obviously, there is something amiss in our current approach to educating our children.

Other articles in the local newspaper carry reports of the increased interests and energies being expended by the “little” people to end the imminent threat of our own government by the increasing invasion of our private rights in the name of protecting the people from inside terrorism. People are grouping at the grass roots level to petition their respective government representative, the President and members of Congress, to end these daily threats to our lives. They are sick to the bone of living in daily fear of imminently undermining the guarantees of our Constitution. We need to adhere to Franklin D. Roosevelt’s, Four Freedoms: Speech, Worship, Want and Fear.

With all of this bombarding our brains, consider “holistically” the relationship of education to

Online Education Tips and Tricks

On a positive note, you aren’t the first student confronting this kind of decision, which means that with proper investigating you will find tons of tips and individuals who can help you. Have a discussion with your friends and family, do research online and at a library and most importantly, try to look at the actual location of the schools you might be thinking about. This isn’t as vital with an online school, but if you want a geographic location, then you will want to visit.

With online degree programs, you will want to look into the accreditation of the university. A physical college usually has achieved some kind of recognition, and you can easily determine if your degree will be respected. However, online degree programs can mask their bad standing behind an Internet wall, so to speak, so accreditation is vital.

Accreditation is extremely important with online degree programs because prospective employers will look at it to know that your schooling is recognized by the United States Department of Education. Regardless of whether you are looking at physical offline schools or web-based schools, be sure that it fits in line with your long term

Strategies to Transform From a Trainer to a Workforce Educator

Corporate training has tremendous potential to promote learning in organizations. There are two primary elements that are responsible for how much potential is realized within the corporate training classroom, and those elements are the materials provided and the method of delivery. An instructional designer, or someone in a similar role, can develop engaging materials but if the delivery is not well executed, the training will not be as effective as it could. In contrast, if the training materials have not been designed in the most engaging manner, or the material is technical in nature, it is the trainer who can still create positive classroom conditions that are conducive to learning.

There are two types of trainers that can be found within organizations that choose to invest in learning and development. The first is a trainer who adequately delivers the required training materials and meets the minimum requirements for their role. The other type is a trainer who has evolved into someone who has a much greater impact on the learning process within a training classroom, a trainer who has transformed into a workforce educator. While it may seem that both are performing the same function, and

New Book Offers Answers to Science Puzzles With Life-Affirming Answers

The Unitive Field is a surprising book. It’s full of color and beautiful pictures, but more importantly, mind-blowing concepts as big as the black holes in some of its images.

Fredrick Swaroop Honig’s goal in writing this book is to combine the science of physics with the science of consciousness. Considering that Honig is related to the groundbreaking scientist Lise Meitner, and he himself is an ordained monk in the Holy Order of Sannyas, a minister of Integral Yoga, and the guardian of a botanical garden and bird sanctuary in Maui, that makes for a not-so-surprising but definitely fascinating goal. Honig achieves that goal with great simplicity in this short 140-page book that will leave you filled with wonder and wanting to read it again to make sure you didn’t miss anything.

The book is organized into twelve primary chapters, each one asking a fundamental question that remains unanswered in the current standard model of physics. Honig then provides insightful answers to these questions. While I’m not a scientist, I found the answers fascinating and life-affirming. I have read books on quantum physics that have made me believe in the scientific basis of such ideas
